SUMMARY:
Papermaking wastewater is primarily generated from two production processes: pulping and papermaking. lt is a complex effluent with poor biodegradability, making it challenging to treat.
PROCESS TECHNOLOGY:
- Flotation to recover fiber-based solids from white water;
- Coagulation and sedimentation to remove suspended solids from wastewater;
- Anaerobic + aerobic treatment to remove a significant portion of COD and ammonia nitrogen;
- Chemical precipitation to remove color from wastewater;
- Optional addition of fluidized bed technology for advanced treatment.
