SUMMARY:
Slaughterhouse wastewater is composed of various streams, including water from pen washing, rinsing, slaughtering, and cleaning of other factory floors,as well as scalding, evisceration, offal processing, animal residues, and blood water, Fecal matter retained in the animals’ bodies and the blood water generated during the slaughtering process contribute to high ammonia nitrogen content in the wastewater.
PROCESS TECHNOLOGY:
- Enhanced pretreatment: The equalization tank regulates the daily water volume, allowing the wastewater entering the biological tank to be neutralized and blended. The screen primarily intercepts and removes large particles such as hair and offal residues. The dissolved air flotation(DAF) unit removes fine suspended solids, fats, and blood lipids from the water, enhancing its biodegradability.
- Biological treatment: Adopting the A/0 process saves carbon sources, reduces energy consumption, and achieves denitrification and phosphorus removal.
